Episode #232: Questions with guest co-host, Natasha Tarpley

Alvina is in Taiwan this week. Grace welcomes fellow author Natasha Tarpley. See more about Natasha at her website  https://natashatarpleywrites.com.

How have you been?

Grace talks about her Christmas Chicken Cluck-mas! Her family sings carols to her 6 chickens that they own! Natasha had a big deadline before the holidays came.

Grace posted Natasha’s interview from the Kids Ask Authors podcast and she reached out to see if Grace wanted to talk about ways to help build a profile. Natasha often feels frustrated by book publishing, social media, and reached out to Grace because she noticed that she has a pretty active platform. I just started to think about as a solitary writer. She would like to establish more of a connection with our writers and the writing community.

Grace: “How would you describe where you are at in your career?”

Early books that Natasha published:

The Harlem Charade, I love My Hair, Girl in the Mirror

“What is it that you want in your career?” “What are your goals?”

Grace and Natasha talk about diverse books and what ways they have both seen the publishing industry change. There are so many avenues where people get their news from. What is the most influential platform for an author?
