Episode #40: Food

Episode #40: Food

On this week’s #BFF episode, Grace and Alvina decide to talk about a more lighthearted subject matter…food! First, they discuss about what has been going on in each other’s live and generally catch-up as always.

Grace has been on the road traveling quite a bit and is pretty wiped out. PLUS, she has been giving up sugar for a 21-day challenge and that has been really hard while traveling especially. She is really missing those chai lattes! One of the highlights from her travels, was speaking with Jewell Parker Rhodes in Kalamazoo, MI.

Alvina has been working on her own challenge…getting her email inbox down to zero before the end of the year! She is a self-proclaimed “black hole” when it comes to e-mails.

For a trip down memory lane, Alvina and Grace remember the books that made them hungry as a kid! Mmmmmm…..chocolate!

Aside from the classic Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, many others come to mind such as Little Women, Little House on the Prairie, and Twenty-One Balloons. You can listen to what other books gave them the ultimate food cravings when they were kids!

“What did you like to eat WHILE you were reading?” Curling up with an apple and a book comes to mind. Grace mentions that reading while eating is one of the greatest pleasures in life.

Grace and Alvina end each episode with expressing what they’re grateful for. Grace is grateful for spending a few days at home after being away so much traveling. Alvina is grateful for audio books because she doesn’t always have time to read. She also created a date idea and instead of going out to dinner or something typical, she and her boyfriend decided to just be together while independently reading books.
