Alvina is getting ready for a trip to California to see her family! Grace ran the Hot Chocolate 5k. She’s been working on the deadline for her new book.
Year End Review
Alvina and Grace share their highlights and lowlights both on a personal and professional level.
Grace’s lowlight this year was some financial stresses this year. Her highlight has been being able to stay at home with her family and create so many memories. Alvina had some hip issues and it was reminder that she’s getting older. Her highlight has been being able to travel again almost back to “normal.” They had a trip to Georgia, a family reunion to Oregon, and a trip to Europe!
Samira Ahmed, the wonderful author of Hollow Fires, is very strategic about her year end review and the book friends decided to borrow her same outline!

GOALS for the New Year (in the next couple of months):
Alvina has an annual meeting where they look at book performance and is working on making smart business decisions. Alvina will also be working on performance review. Grace has to finish the book she’s working on by December 15th. (Chinese Menu!) She will get a massage and then she’s working on promoting Once Upon a Book with Kate Messner! After that, Grace will work on Chinese Menu promotion.

Alvina: A picture book written by Buffy Sainte -Marie and illustrated by Julie Flett called Still This Love Goes On. Alvina also enjoyed The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism by Naoki Higashida.
Grace has been reading alot of non-fiction books and enjoyed The Menopause Manifesto by Jen Dr. Gunter.
Gratefuls
Grace and Alvina share what they’re grateful for. Grace started the Chicken Readers book club with her daughter and friends. She is also grateful for the Hot Chocolate run accomplishment! Alvina is grateful for this year. It was really full and things went back to kind of “normal”. they are BOTH grateful for another wonderful year of listeners to this podcast! THANK YOU ALL!
