How have you been?

Grace returned from a trip to Boston and realized how much she misses it except for the driving! School visits are back in full swing. Alvina cleaned out her cubicle, discovered a book about Hamilton, and is getting ready to go on vacation.

Celebrations!

Grace wants to celebrate all the occasions in a world that is so down and out mostly. Celebrate what you can. Don’t have any regrets. Celebrations are important for our mental health. Check out this Psychology Today article. Grace and Alvina share their big and small celebrations in life. Grace mentions The National Book Awards and her regret about not being present enough to enjoy the moment.

Fortune Cookie Segment: What are you working?

Grace has been working on her novel with some research and getting back into the groove. She’s been learning about Chinese folktales. Grace is working on a picture book (Little Stone Buddha) based on the true story about a stoned Buddha in Oakland, Ca.

Alvina has been working on Summer 2024 books. There are new books by Chris Colfer, Samira Ahmed, and a new Julie Abe book. ( Eva Evergreen author). Her new series launch with Tessa Miyata is NO Hero. Alvina is also working on two picture books called Soul Step by Jewel Parker Rhodes and Kelly McWilliams and illustrated by Briana Mukodiri Uchendu.

Grace is grateful that everyone comes to her author events! Alvina is grateful that she has an upcoming vacation and that spring is here.
