How have you been?
Anna Alter came down to NY for the Holiday Craft Fair at the Society of Illustrators. Anna’s pottery is so beautiful. You can check it out here! Vashti Harrison was there but she was sold out by the time Alvina got there! Alvina attended the Ed Young memorial. Alvina went to a work field trip to see the new layout of the Barnes & Noble on the Upper East Side. It was an exciting new look!
Grace is very busy with her revision deadline and everything else going on. Kate Milford came all the way from Brooklyn to run the Hot Chocolate 5k! Grace has been pushing for holiday sales for her book. Hazel’s book club has started up again. It used to be called the “Chicken Readers”. They are reading Mulan Before the Sword. Hazel also finished her novel of 1200 words for NaNoWriMo. The Girl Scouts are really trying to raise money for a trip to Puerto Rico in 2025.
Staying Healthy
Alvina discusses ways to manage stress and stay healthy over the holidays. How to combat Holiday shopping stress! See what happens when you lower your expectations and be gentle with yourself around the holidays. Grace listened to a podcast on Optimal Living Health on how to eat for the holidays. The main thing to remember is that one meal isn’t going to ruin you. Enjoy yourself! Avoid the “all or nothing” mindset.
