Episode #259: Sparkle and Awe!
Grace and Alvina discuss two different podcasts on similar topics: how to bring sparkle back into your life, and how to experience awe. For the fortune cookie segment, they talk about the last thing they’ve purchased.
How have you been?
Grace is visiting Alvina in NYC delivering all of the traditionally done artwork for her upcoming new novel! Hazel has been away at sleep away camp that she earned from selling 1,000 Girl Scout cookie boxes. Alvina is working but getting ready to go away for her 50th Birthday trip.
Sparkle and Awe
Grace has been listening to podcasts while she paints. These two have been really fun to listen and there is so much to discuss:
The Happiness Lab: “The Power of Awe” episode.
Hidden Brain: “Make the World Sparkle Again” episode.
The book friends discuss the meaning of “awe”.
The last thing we purchased…
Grace’s last purchase was at her favorite indie bookstore High Five Books! Hazel bought “The Cursed Princess Club” a graphic novel by Lamb Cat and “Black Butler, Vol. 1” by Yana Toboso and Tomo Kimura. Grace bought “Plain Jane and the Mermaid” by Vera Brosgol and “49 Days” by Agnes Lee.
Alvina bought a neon green dress for her Birthday!
Gratefuls
Grace is grateful that her artwork is almost done for her new novel, that Hazel is having a great time at summer camp, and that she can enjoy NYC with Alvina! Alvina is grateful that she has the means to take some upcoming birthday trips this year, that she can have a party, and that her health is on track!
