Episode 10: Our Ideal Lives and Our China Trip
Alvina talks about the Walter Awards Symposium and the two books she edited that were honored, GHOST BOYS by Jewell Parker Rhodes and THE ASTONISHING COLOR OF AFTER by Emily X.R. Pan. Alvina and Grace mention how they sometimes love sad books and sometimes those are just the kind of books you need at the right time.
Grace shared a gross but fascinating fact about angler fish!
They discuss Alvina’s upcoming sabbatical, and take a trip down memory lane and remember their vacation to Beijing and Shanghai together.
As usual, Grace and Alvina end the episode with expressing what they are grateful for. Alvina is grateful for living in New York City and all the great restaurants, shows, and events that she access to. Grace is thankful for appreciating a sunrise on one of her school visits instead of being grumpy about the travel.
